“the fine print” is a collection of songs from the Athens, GA-based band that didn’t make it on to their previous records.
It took me way too long to gain an appreciation for the Drive-By Truckers, but better late than never I suppose. My “a-ha!” moment came during their recent Austin City Limits performance. These guys are one of my favorite bands today and this collection of rarities, oddities, covers, etc. pretty much explains why. Most bands would kill to have just one of these “outtakes” in their standard catalogue. In addition to the rocking songs and gripping stories I appreciate how they present their experiences in the South in a real way [the good, the bad and the dirty]. The record was produced by David Barbe, who was part of my favorite Bob Mould band, Sugar.
Suggested Tracks * Rebels, TVA, When The Well Runs Dry, Play It All Night Long
